Celebrate the Summer Solstice!

- Kay

Summer Solstice:
On this day in the Northern Hemisphere, the length of daylight is at its maximum.
(In the Southern Hemisphere, this is the first day of winter, or the Winter Solstice.)
For most people in the Northern Hemisphere, this is a time to just relish the long daylight hours while we can, knowing that beginning the next day the nights will get longer and winter will come once again. Also, there are people who observe the Pagan religions who celebrate the day with a "joyous formality," with exuberant festivals, games, dancing, as well as many quiet reflective moments. They get together with friends to enjoy the bounty of the embracing warmth of the earth and universe while perhaps enjoying a feast of fruits and crops from the spring planting.
